Introduction to the music production workflow and DAWs. Explore key production roles such as Producer, Engineer, and Beatmaker, along with the basics of acoustics, home studio setup, and essential recording gear. Activity: Analyze a professionally produced track and customize a DAW workspace.
WEEK 2
Exploring the distinctions between audio and MIDI and their optimal applications in music production. Explore microphone types, miking techniques, and gain staging for optimal recording quality. Learn the fundamentals of effects such as EQ, compression, reverb, and delay. Activity - Record vocals, instruments, and MIDI tracks, then apply effects to enhance the sound.
Recording & Sound Processing
Music Creation & Sound Design
Application of core music theory for producers, including chords, scales, and progressions. Introduction to synthesis techniques such as subtractive, additive, FM, and granular synthesis. Explore sampling methods, including finding, chopping, and manipulating audio. Activity: Design a synth patch and transform a sample into a playable instrument.

WEEK 4
Arranging & Advanced Production Techniques
Constructing song structures by arranging loops & stems into full tracks. Applying advanced techniques such as layering, automation, and transitions for a polished, professional sound. Activity: Develop a complete 16-bar track with automation and effects.
Mixing & Mastering
Essential mixing principles, including gain staging, balance, panning, EQ, and compression. Utilizing effects such as reverb, delay, saturation, and stereo enhancement to refine the mix. Preparing tracks for streaming and distribution while understanding loudness standards like LUFS, RMS, and Peak Levels. Activity: Mix a 16-bar track, apply EQ and compression, and master it for optimal loudness and clarity.
